Oxford v Millers

I'd recommend Oxford for an overnight stay. The town is stunning with lots to see and do.
Some of the University Colleges have world class museums and they are all free.
I know that isn't perhaps everyone's cup of tea but there are some great pubs too.
I'd advise against entering a pub quiz if you are in a student bar because you will probably get trounced.

As people have said the ground is about 5 miles out of town and served by very slow public transport. Taxis will be much better if there's a few of you.
Strange ground with only three sides but a bigger capacity than ours
Their fans are a friendly bunch as expected with no grief

I'm over in UK from Thursday Jan 9 for three weeks and will be making the Oxford game plus Bristol Rovers and possibly Peterborough away. Really looking forward to this one and will make a weekend of it in Oxford. Staying at the Premier Inn, Garsington Saturday night which looks like a 25 minute walk from the ground.

Had our tickets a while now, looking forward to it.
Last time we were there was the 3-3 draw when we saw five goals in the first half.
Get wrapped up, if it’s still open ended behind one of the goals it can get chilly.

Should be an interesting team selection as far as defence is concerned.
Clarke or even Hinds to left back or stick with Wiles at right- back and bring Lindsay into the midfield.
Smith and Vassell to start up front ??

Warney tends to pick what he sees as the eleven best players, and then shoehorn them into positions that they are not all suitable for. Pointless playing Wiles wide left, when he can't cross it from there, although he did (sort of) ok as stand-in right back. Can't see Hinds getting a game with that approach to team selection. Obvious choice would be to put Clarke or Hinds at LB and move Olosunde to RB . Olosunde has looked better in his previous two games at left back, than he has often done at right back though... so who knows?

What's point in defending take it to them. 2 from Wiles Hinds Olosunde full backs. Lamy Lindsay Barlaser Crooks Ogbene across the middle. Smudger up front.

Yes it’s still open but according to weather won’t be as cold as last time but I’d still wrap up

Wiles isn’t good enough for RB imo

Im afraid we are well and truly in the smelly stuff right up to our necks. Oxford scoring for fun and we dont have enough fit defenders to make up a five a side team. Im predicting a significant loss im afraid.

Totally agree. The buildings in Oxford are beautiful and it’s a lovely town centre. Got my tickets and staying down for a couple of nights. Some good advise on here regarding buses etc.

There’s not much in it with both teams if you look, I’d say a draw would be fair but obviously a win to us would be fantastic

You may have been to Oxford before but if not I'd recommend

A stroll round the town and College cloisters as the architecture is stunning and in particular the Radcliffe camera building which is now a student library. It's right in town so you can't miss it
River walks with lots of rowing clubs
University college museums. There,s quite a few but the Ashmolean was impressive. We only intended to visit for a hour and ended up spending about five hours
Oxford castle with a great interactive experience with some very humorous guides
Traditional pubs
It's a different world and it's obvious why it's on the tourist trail straight from London
Lots of Americans so you,ll be at home plus the obligatory Japanese taking photos of students
