O/T Flowers

flowers remind me of the death of Diana, when all around Buck House it was a sea of flowers. What a waste. If folks had just given the equivalent amount of money to charity millions would have been raised. Instead it just went to landfill.

Funnily enough, looking out of my window with everything in bloom and nature at work, not once has it reminded me of the death of Diana. I see your point but I guess the volume of flowers that were laid in her memory pale in insignificance to the volume laid across the country every single day of the year in the memory of loved ones. Most of them end up in compost heaps somewhere.

My other half is the main gardener here mate, I care for the lawn and any heavy digging etc. My parents had the Gentians in a border , so the very name always reminds of them

frequently I'm all for cheap beer

but seriously though, which is best £500k of rotting flowers going to landfill or the same £500k going to a worthy cause?

Nothing to do with happiness, more to do with practical use, a lasting use and a better tribute.

I think the amount of money 'wasted' on beer every hour of every day (cheap or not) that ends up being pissed down the drain within 60 minutes of purchase would surpass Capt Tom's achievement if it went to the NHS instead of the breweries XD
