Honesty isn't in the consortium's vocabulary they don't know the meaning of it
These owners are not reluctant to talk abart things when it's time to renew Season Memberships (as we must now call them ) and say how wonderful BFC fans are.
Show fans some respect Conway, particularly those who have shelled out brass so you don't have to contribute.
Just tell fans what are the Consortium's intentions concerning Oakwell ?
Last I heard the Consortium had given up on buying Oakwell and also do not want to pay rent and maintenance costs to the Crynes/Council at their present level. So what do you want to do next? Are the reports of the Consortium looking to play elsewhere correct or is it just bluff and bluster ?
I wouldn't know the cost of running the Club , i would imagine a fair bit though ? Re Maintenance of the ground , it seems the West Stand is draining away plenty of money to keep it Maintained ? ! If that is the case it may as well be cordoned off , it would upset many who sit or have set there for years, but it's never going to be fully open to Supporters is it ? It would in many way's be sad to see it go , but that's nostalgia and past history , I can see why the 80%s don't want this burden solely , and it's fair to ask the Ground Holder's to chip in , however both the Crynes and the Cheins should have got their heads together and sorted this embarrassing mess out, just now we are a laughing stock , and everybody knows it ,
I can imagine Conway and Lee gerrin arta their cars and walking towards the ground with the Laurel and Hardy theme tune in the background and the thin Stan Lee says to the fat Oliver Conway--
"Well, this is another fine mess you've gotten me in to".
;D Luvvit
Stan Lee sez to Olly , me no signing player's now Arrso !
What’s that Latin phrase again? caveat emptor........
can’t believe that these successful businessmen have bought a club without checking it out 10000%.... Thats what they are asking us, The EFL, and the courts to believe..... Laughable really.
I said on another thread last week they'd been sold a lame duck and I stand by that .
Everytime there's a threat to having to put their own money in to the club then the nasty side comes out .
Pretty much convinced they thought there was money to be made here without them putting in by looking at the player sales Cryne achieved late in his tenure , " too good to be true " .
The reality is obviously vastly different for them to contemplate .
Their purchase of the club has yielded them nothing in three years whilst the costs are starting to give them a sense of reality .
Anytime its too good to be true then it nearly always is .
I'd say more fool them but that doesn't help us one jot .
Wouldn't surprise me one bit that if the EFL block them from taking the club away from the town they place us in administration and walk away .
The irony of that won't be lost on too many of us after what happened on the final night of the Championship last season .
Oakwell will still be a problem even if they leave. We need to land issue resolving to move forward. It's no good all our eggs spread everywhere. They need to be in one basket. People say what if we're taken over by people just interested in the land. It's a risk you take. At the minute we have a football club separated.
I disagree steve , nothing is worth the risk of losing our historical home .
If any new ownership are only interested in our prospects on the field the makeup of the stadium and land shouldn't matter one jot .
Plenty of clubs don't even own their own stadium these days never mind 50% and it doesn't affect investors coming onboard .
Some out of town lego stadium isn't for me and I suspect it's not for the majority of this clubs support .
I'd like to agree with you steve but if I did that would make both of us wrong on the subject .
