I was born and bred in Accrington sinkov, and it pains me to see it now. :(
I was born in Great Harwood but spent the first 28 years of my life in Accrington. Even back then Burnley always seemed more prosperous than Accy, no doubt on the back of Michelin, Lucas, Belling, Mullards etc, but Burnley seems like Monaco in comparison now, well sort of. ;D
Never been the same since they shut the Grammar School, thus depriving working class lads like me and Sub of a decent education.
Bloody hell sinkov please play a different tune to, "working class lads like me and Sub on the receiving end of a decent education." B)
I have Harold Wilson to thank for my further education: Gained at the Open University - Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Social Policy and Geography. I only ended up with an Upper Second-class honours degree, but still not bad for a thicko from Haslingden County Secondary school, whose only real interests were playing football, watching the Clarets and chasing lasses up the High Street. XD
BT --he is only telling the truth. I was in 6th form at AGS and hoping to go to Uni. Mum and dad both worked in the mill and were doing their best when mum had a heart attack and the money was not coming in any more. I left school and got a job within two days. Stayed doing that for 18 months, decided it wasn't what I wanted to do, applied to join the RAF and got a job as a brickie's labourer for 6 months while I was waiting to join up. Never had any further education since then and not needed it. My interests were sport in general, music, particularly playing in the local dance band, mainly at Accrington Conservative Club, and watching any football match I could go to!
I know that sinkov left before I did, even though we started at AGS on the same day.
Back on subject, there is nothing wrong with the club or the area really but it just does not have the attraction of a city club for players
I remember the wife of some foreign international at Middlesbrough throwing a wobbler because she could not "go shopping". Mrs Karanka springs to mind. :? She would be truly phucked in Burnley! :D
You are not a bad club, you have done very well over the years. We Millwall, are a bad club according to all the press, I remember once reporters said we were chanting sieg heil, sieg heil but in fact, it was Brighton fans calling out seagulls, seagulls. But we accept no one likes us but we like us.
I am so surprised at our comrade 'Tovarishch' BT: Its too late now,of course, but BT, you do not chase young ladies up the High street. You choose a position ,some narrow passage way, then surprise them? ''Hello, nice to see you!'' For example, if I saw a nice young lady sitting (even with 'bloke'). I just wait until she needs to go to the Ladies room ! The rest is easy. In Rishton, together with the lads, we used to haunt the Mecca Dancing in Blackburn and Burnley. But you know the lads they will drink and drink, so that by the time we hit the dance floor ,not many pretty girls to be seen. That's a bad strategy ! So I told the lads ''meet you up in't Mecca'' That was much better! Take your pick! Another tactic was to get a friend a nice girl from Rishton, so when I ask her to dance ,we do, and if I have seen an interesting young lady maybe standing in the opposite corner far from were we stood,I would dance her to a position very near were that young lady was standing,so she saw me dance and with a very nice girl. Then, 'Bobs your uncle'' ......ah ! Those were the days!
Many moons ago me and one of my lads were in your neck of the woods and being a bit naïve. We had come down with my ex-wife and a couple of the kids to "do the London thing" and me and the lad were going to watch the Clarets take on your lot.
We were having an early lunch in a pub and a couple of your supporters clocked we were from "Up North". Long story cut short - we had a couple of pints with them and met up after the match. We won 1-0, but the hospitality and banter was amazing.
Millwall fans hard? Phucking behave XD.
Treat 'em with the respect they deserve (just like us) and they are phucking awesome. O:)

WHen I was stationed at Uxbridge for over 10 years I used to go to football all over the London area and I also had some good times at Millwall and it was great for people watching! Seen plenty of trouble at lots of the grounds in the late 70s and into the 80s but always stayed out of bother myself -----I'm only little!
The Wall fans that post on England mad are super guys.. They Love the banter and take it as well as give it.. Top guys.
