This summer I have purchased blueberries grown in Aberdeenshire in Tesco whereas in previous summers blueberries grown in Poland were on sale.
More food could easily be produced throughout the UK instead of importing it from the EU especially if temperatures are going to rise.
Several farmers on Islay who previously grew grass for silage are now suddenly able to grow barley because the management of two local distilleries on the island want local Islay barley for their whisky.
Historically the island of Islay is not a place for growing barley due to the wetter climate.

Good. hope it works out for the farmers, and they get a premium price for their barley. big business could do so much for British farmers if they would realise that paying a little bit more for a premium product has a much better effect on the economy than them making slightly higher profits on imported barley.
