You're right. I met up with some Americans a few years back when working abroad and one of them openly admited to me that most of his fellow countrymen were so insular it was unbelievble. At least this guy was reasonably wordly wise - mainly from being and ex Vietnam veteran.

So insular are they folk on the West Coast have no idea what's happening in the east and vice versa.

Can't agree they know nothing about about events in little old England. They know absolutely everything our Royals are up to.
