Andy Carroll now being strongly linked, what an absolute joke, always injured, past it anyway, if this is the type of player Allerdyce is looking at then it shows how out of touch the dinosaur is.
Despite Allardyce relegation is nailed on and what we don’t need in the Championship is a load of over 30’s, much rather stick with the younger players gaining experience, they’ll be better players for it, then bring in a younger manager/ coach with fresh modern ideas.
The panic stations of Lai and co bringing in Allardyce is laughable, you reap what you sow, no investment means relegation, unfortunately we will continue to go backwards at an alarming rate whilst the Chinese are in charge and they employ coaches from a Dinosaurial age.

Another Strurridge, if they were fit we couldn't afford them.
Strurridge was one of the reasons we went down.
In my opinion, £120k a week, not contributing rolling up his Bentley for training, shopping on match days.

If we could get 15 matches out of Carrol, we could stay up.
His average over 14 seasons is 20. many seasons less then 10
Sturrage also made is debut in 2006, his average of 14 seasons is 16.

Andy Carroll. An out and out centre forward and nothing else. I will say it quietly, I have always quite liked him. It’s a heading the ball thing. Despite his problems I would like to think that he could do a job for us and we certainly need it. I remember watching Albion play West Ham at the Olympic stadium or whatever they now call that crap football venue. We were were 1-0 up at half time and I was talking to group of friendly (yes) Hammers fans. They were feeling gloomy but I told them not to worry, Andy Carroll always scored against us. They were not convinced but he did, twice, with the winner coming right at the end. Maybe, maybe not but I don‘t think he is that bad.

So FS has said we won’t play our way out of trouble so expect 2 up top and lots of balls into the box, Carrol fits the bill for this system..

Whats the chances of Ken Zohore ( Injury aside ) coming back and given another chance !!!!!

Andy Carroll is crocked. low down on the pecking order at West ham, low down on the pecking order with Newcastle now. Had his day just like Austin. We don't have the funds to buy who we need to hit the back of the net. If Big Sam keeps us up I will be keenly interested in how he did it. Its a lot of changes for the lads. Its a lot to expect from any squad. Especially one you cant add a prolific goalscorer to.

Desperate times call for desperate measures - so, Carroll could fit the bill. Injuries, pay check etc aside, he has got traditional, ”simple” assets that, if not injured (again), we could benefit from. Def better (if not injured...) than any we have, and is not Grant supposed to benefit from playing alongside another striker?
