It probably is delay tactics like you say. I'd be surprised if PIF were willing to wait another year to acquire the club when there are so many clubs out there they could buy. Why bother with all the hassle in trying to buy NUFC? They have the money to buy Barca or Madrid or Bayern etc

my guess is, they don't have anything to back up their side of the argument. They have probably been told by their legal team that they are screwed, no doubt talking to the club and the buyers now trying to get a compromise.
The club have used this to their advantage, the CAT case will now run first and it will be in public, if it exposes all the dodgy dealings.
