I think they’d reflect that all the sacrifice had been pointless.

Whilst we’re on this confessional thread I do think it’s time to admit that auntie Polly ( not a real auntie but one of mum’s fit younger friends ) would often come to mind if my copies of Escort and Razzle had been discovered by mum......aunt Polly had a habit of sitting with her legs apart exposing her “growler” and that site of a 30 year old to a 14 year old was too much to contain.
She’s 76 now so I avoid her visits!
