Concentrate on what happens on the pitch and let the stewards and police do what they are paid for.
Correct….Also if you look at forest greens two goals yesterday there was things getting thrown at players when they celebrated…obviously cos it doesn’t hit someone it didn’t chatted about…but was clear and they even replayed goals on highlights show..Quote:

Got to be careful in stopping games for chants. If a player, official or anyone else isn't in immediate physical danger then the ref shouldn't stop the game and the police and stewards need to do their job (IF a crime is being committed). If no crime is being committed then not a lot you can do. Not up to the referee to police the stands and get drawn into it. Games will last forever and fans will soon cotton onto singing certain things to stop games and know they are being a nuisance.
The name calling will never go away, and like the old saying,"sticks and stones may break my bones but calling will not harm me".
It's a different matter when missiles are being thrown at players though, that's actual physical abuse, as opposed to mental abuse through name calling. Cameras should be able to identify the culprits who throw things onto the pitch, but as far as shouting abuse at players well how do you stop maybe 50 - 100 fans who're all "singing" the same thing? I've actually witnessed this sort of abuse for the last 60 years and I've even joined in with some of the songs when I was young and daft. Some songs are funny and witty but others are cringeworthy. I'm sat watching the Derby V Birmingham game and I can hear abuse from both sets of fans. No it'll never go away.
