It just occured to me that there is a vacancy at the club as head scout....and well you know...;)
From the mighty Vale? Who seem to be blowing their promotion hopes...again!
Pathetic response to a debate.
I'm not going down that road again I've explained my position many times and you obviously fall into the Alex supporting attitude of burying your head in the sand.....How many 2nd Div, games have you seen this season ? Have you seen average sides like Salford, Harrogate, Bradford City and yes Port Vale who have been hit by the terrible tragedy to their manager ?
I've seen all those and Crewe this season andl take it from me, with big hitters like Wrexham, Stockport and Chesterfield knocking on the door you will do well to survive next season, as was confirmed by Radio Stoke last night.
How is that a debate?
If you want a reasoned argument, then I can point out that despite some fairly good activity in the January window, we have been very unlucky with injuries and illness..Sass Davies, Zaque Williams, Tariq Uwakwe, Mika Mandron. Despite this we have played some very good football. Next season we won't be under the now constant pressure of having to win almost every game, which has to be affecting the team currently. Most of the current team will still be here .... which in the case of the goalkeepers may not be a good thing, and the almost certain departure of Lowry is a slight worry.
I can't imagine that the standard in League 2 has changed all that much from when we were last there two seasons ago.
I didn't know about about your Managers bereavement, sorry to hear about that.
Stockport, Chesterfield, and Wrexham may be on the way back up, but they've all been out if the League a long time, and have to prove themselves.
I think the Alex will be fine next season.
I can’t let this slide a fairly good January transfer window ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH ? An extremely poor January transfer window with some rank average recruitment (as backed up by our Chairman) unlucky with injuries maybe but when you play players to death because you have nobody else then injuries will happen 100% the fault of the manager.
5 or 10 minutes here and there where we have played ok but that it about it on the whole we have been absolutely dire. Most of the current squad being with us next season is a massive negative as they will only know one thing how to lose consistently. The departure of Lowery is a massive worry as he is the only player with any quality in our current squad.
We are going to find league 2 a massive struggle next season and we will be one of the favourites for relegation.
I think Terry who has watched both league 2 and league 1 football probably has a better handle on the quality in league 2 and with the potential clubs coming up our budget will be probably the lowest in the league. Do not underestimate how poor this Crewe squad is a lot of these players are non league standard at best. Be warned.
You do know, if you're that unhappy with the club, there is no obligation to watch/follow the Alex. There are plenty of clubs nearby that don't follow our philosopy.
I thought DA was on his way out having not heard of him until today and although I like DA he really is getting like Steve Davis in saying if it wasn't for those three goals etc..
There was a very slight chance we could have stayed up by a change of manager but think the Board have decided not to and so accepted our fate of L2...I'm not saying a new manager could have but sorry Dave you have no chance with the worst record in the football league could you really expect to remain in the job...
Seems so...
