None of the names mentioned played an eye catching brand of football and it was damn ugly at times. But then again they didn’t get us relegated from the football league either.

You could count Ardley in the list if it's based on his first half-season, because he certainly didn't improve much on the shambles Nolan had left behind. I'm more sympathetic to Ardley though, because his teams did produce some decent performances the following season and I wouldn't say they were ugly to watch like the Thordarson/Thompson teams were. They just dropped a few too many points, as is the case now with IB.

I don’t think we will go long ball, and I don’t want us to. However I wouldn’t be surprised if he changes to 3 at the back with Chicksen the ball playing CB. Maybe 3-5-2 with Sam/Wootton allowing a more direct ball out.
