This might sound crazy I'm not saying starting but if we need a goal say after 60 mins get Wood up front with Smudger get crosses into them.

Totally disagree with you Brin regarding JJ, but totally agree with you that we cannot change the way we line up. JJ now has to start these last few games, and whilst we have got more experienced players unavailable, he has shown to be more than capable and, for me anyway, absolutely needs to be put in the starting line up.
It's no good changing a winning formation or playing players out of position when we have JJ a ready made replacement, albeit young but with more than a few league games under his belt both with us and 2 seasons out on loan.
Chieo is a winger and it makes both us and him weaker when he isnt playing out wide. UTM
Agree with ronners. Got to put jj in at least he is a forward. Chieo is much better on the wing. He is like a fish out of water as a forrud. Not sure jj is any worse than ladapo. Will put effort in and brings summat different to the forward line. We really havent any other choice because the only one who could have played in that role has gone to bolton. Plainly wiles aint a number 10 nor ogbene. Could try miller but a bit like cheio we are gonna miss his wing skills.
As regards getting a forrud in on loan the probs with that are 1 would ts shell out for one?2. Warney would want him up to speed physicallty 3. He would prob be knacked after a couple of games. It aint gonna happen. More likely trying one of the kids like jimmy but they are all out on loan
Not the best game to judge Chieo up top. He didnt get a kick because hardly anyone did as you went further up the pitch. Smudge hardly involved either, just fighting for headers the whole game. Would want to try him again midweek with Miller on the left and us playing football. Then he might get involved. Poor attacking approach when using someone nippy, not playing to strengths, but the opposition.
Nobody seems to be answering that question Grist, all you get is that Kelly’s one for the future. He is 26yrs old not kicked a ball in anger & he’s out for 4 weeks, so really that’s him done for the season. He will not have time to prove he is good enough for league 1 football so god help him if we go into the Championship.
A goalscorer is a goalscorer.
Kelly scored at a ratio of 2 in 3 at Bohemians and 1 in 2 at UCD.
The league of Ireland might not be of the highest standard but he still knows where the onion bag is.
Someone mentioned last week that we could try Miller up front and he used to play there for Hamilton
Pace, tricky and can hopefully carve out his own chances
I really do hope you are right Karl but it’s a very big ask to step up to Championship football, the pace of the game the quality of the defenders is something he his not used to.It’s not like he his 19 - 20yrs old.Nothing against the lad I just think imo we should have fetched a proven fit forward in.
'Nobody seems to be answering that question about Kelly'
Well if that isn't an answer I don't know what is. He came in unfit having not played for a couple of months. Add to that it is a semi pro league so his general fitness even when 'peak' in Ireland won't be of the level required for League 1. It takes time and now he has picked up an injury. Throwing the lad in if he was absolutely miles off it would of been so unfair on him. Would look a right donkey compared to stallions. Just have some patience. If he is good enough he is good enough, we will find out in due course. When training etc the management will see if he is on par (or better / worse) than his peers.
That is the answer Lol.
