I'm not surprised you are feeling shell shocked, OldSkool. It just feels so wrong, and is a sad reminder of how fragile life can be. Devastating for all those affected. I'm sure your efforts to help are much appreciated and I hope the fund does well for the family. All my love, Winnie xxx
Had a peek on the page yesterday and it was a little over 7k, which at the very least will take the pressure off the family for the immediate arrangements I would think, and some nice words to the family too, so well done to all who have commented/contributed, especially those on here'
Ironically the "other" death announcement this week has caused less shock but far more chaos in this household, as my better half is Mayor of our little town this year and has had a defcon 1 few days getting everyone organised into their allotted tasks, especially as "operation London Bridge" turned out to be "operation Unicorn", for which no local protocol had been produced, nice one Queeny, keep them guessing :)
I'm so pleased to hear that they've done well with the fund. I know money can't ever take away the pain, but, as you say, hopefully it will help relieve some of the immediate financial pressures for them during this awful time.
Wow, it certainly sounds like a busy time for your better half and your household! It sounds like the Queen kept everyone on their toes to the very end! All the best to your better half with whatever duties she has to undertake at this time. She will be part of history :)
