Percy Thrower always claimed a bush should be kept neat and trimmed, no matter what the season. ;D

Seeing as the footy is finished for the duration and it's Gardeners Question Time, I have a question. I have two box plants in identical pots, same soil, same feed, same watering routine, same position, everything identical, one is thriving, the other is looking decidedly worse for wear and I fear for it's long term future.
WTF is going on ? And more to the point, what do I do about it ?
I hate to tell you this mon ami but the one that is not thriving will not have created an extended root ball. I'll have a small wager you can pull it straight out of the pot with little or no resistance. It's a goner mon ami.
I've had 10 in a row on occasions and just one will die. A little tip for you, rotate the pots 180 degrees every couple of months and make sure you have feet under the pots, or they tend to get waterlogged and die.
Absolute footie fest. I love the World Cup even though I'm not overly optimistic about England's chances and I'll be glued to Leagues 1 and 2 even though the Wanderers have totally lost it recently. What's not to like?
We could adopt Accy for a month.
No problem up here with proper football feing played. Ashington are at home on Saturday and then have 6 consecutive away fixtures before the Clarets play again.
Only three defeats, one in the league, one in FA Cup and one in the FA Vase this season from 25 matches. You can stick the World Cup where the sun don't shine.
I certainly won't be blackballing it despite agreeing with you that England's chances are slim - World Cups are great entertainment and we get to see teams and players we seldom see pitted against each other.
Wondering how you can resist that?
If it's for political reasons I think that's a bit hypocritical as the UK is hardly squeaky clean on the human rights/racism/homophobia/endangering workers front what with 12k Brits dying every year just from work-related lung conditions and 1.7 million with long term work related illnesses let alone guest workers drowning in Morecambe Bay, imprisoned by gangmasters, human slave trafficking or British soldiers being found guilty of torturing and murdering POWs. Pot/kettle and all that.
I didn't boycott Russia and I won't be boycotting this one - I'll be watching as many games as possible - in the full knowledge that it's as bent as every other WC.
We have had one or two players leave recently and one of them was the son of one of the coaches, the coach and one if his assistants also left. Within one day, they had been replaced by a guy with a really good reputation who is well known in these parts.
There have been a few changes off the field at the club and the only thing that bothers Ken and me is the fact that one or two seem to be 'empire building' Non-league football is certainly a strange animal.
