The recruitment policy, including that of legend MB has been good enough to get us out of the championship. Staying up is another matter. It’s a bit unfair to compare to teams who have played in the premier for a number of years of late and with all the money and years of transforming the squad.
Brighton played terrible football under Houghton in their earlier years but just scraped to survival.
As said i am not sticking up for JM and we seem to be underspending on improving the squad to PL level. Adding pressure to every signing as we can’t now afford the hit/miss ratio of previous years.

Don’t disagree with most of that and the investment in youngsters is starting to bear fruit.
What is more annoying is not filling in obvious holes if weakness or the board saying one thing but then not living up to it.
Radz and Kinnear tend to speak at the start of the season and set out 12 and 36 months plans.
Maybe they realised it is a bit harder but after the good work early on this summer the end of the transfer window was best described as shambolic.
We seemed to have 40m for CDK on whom all hopes seemed to be placed but then had to let James go to bring in Gnonto.
After the last 18 years the current bird deserve lots and lots of credit but if you make public pronouncements and promises and don’t keep them …..
