That’s why one guy who had paid a deposit for this trip thought it wiser to lose his money than take the trip because they hadn’t gone for ABS certification. Talk about dodging a bullet.

At least one guy with obscene amounts of cash had brains.
Was channel hopping some time last year and came across a short documentary on the BBC news channel following one of these trips down to the Titanic. It was interesting but to discover that the submersible was controlled by something akin to a PlayStation controller was a bit disconcerting. Pretty sure one of the tourists making the journey described the set up as appearing to be held together by a shoe string but was sure those in charge knew what they were doing.
My condolences go out to those who lost loved ones in this tragedy.
That’s the thing, it seems it was designed with little or no redundancy in the systems, frightening to say the least, I would be amazed if any company would insure it or won’t pay out, there will be some humongous bills kicking about that need to be paid for sure! Not the last to be heard of this tragedy for sure!
