Educated using Imperial. Gradualy picked up Metric at College. Used Imperial for half my working life then had to use Metric when I changed jobs. Happy bto work in either. Does that make me bi-lingual :)

Have to admit that I think more in imperial as opposed to metric. As an ex-PE teacher I understand race distances and and heights jumped and distances thrown but not much else. When you’re brought up with imperial measurements it’s difficult to change your thinking.
Always remember at school going into the corner shop and getting a quarter of pineapple chunks then eating them under my desk!
My school years were 1960-1970 and soon after I left everything changed to metric.
The metric system is far easier to use but I have to convert everything back to imperial. It's a generation thing and being taught in the old system for a decade from an early age.
Later generations who never did imperial will have no problems of course.
Our two sons are a godsend lol.
Old money for me every day of the week, yards in golf, miles for travel and cycling, pints for consumption :D
