The WS10 post code rating certainly doesn't help I'm afraid. At that age, and given the cost of any insurance-if she can get it-I think you are probably right and she is best to cut her losses and sell. Can't see JLR sorting this anytime soon.

Nice car! One of the last in the long tradition of classic small British sports cars too I believe. Not all of them were as good as they looked of course (Spitfire/Stag) but the MGB V8 was always a favourite of mine growing up even if it looked a bit dated even then compared with cars like the larger Datsun 240Z. An aunt used to have a TR6 which was pretty nice too.

Always used to think it a pity that Lotus or someone didn't try to carry on the tradition and produce a more reasonably priced small sports car rather than leaving the market to the Mazda MX5/Miata or import Mitsubishi FTO . Too late now as those days seem long gone though.

Electric cars unaffordable for most and if they were then the insurance will cost you in the thousands and in many cases insurers wont touch em.

Although I’ve just renewed my X5 hybrid and paid £2k insurance I won’t bother with electric hybrid for the wife next time around if her insurance becomes prohibitive.
