Years ago, when I was on good money, I enjoyed being able to spend money on gifts for family that I knew they would appreciate but these days our financial situation is much harder (and the number of children/grandchildren much larger 😁) and I feel a bit guilty about not being able to afford to do so any more. If you have your wife's blessing then go for it! Different guitars all have their own particular qualities and sounds/tones or fit certain styles which is why so many players have more than one or, if they dont, they hanker after them! Anyhow, I hope you manage to find an acoustic that suits your needs.
