Really like that style of playing. I'm on holiday next week so know what I will be trying to learn at some point alongside getting used to the MIDI keyboard 😁

Understand where you're coming from. Years ago, when I was on good money, I enjoyed being able to spend money on gifts for family that I knew they would appreciate but these days our financial situation is much harder (and the number of children/grandchildren much larger 😁) and I feel a bit guilty about not being able to afford to do so any more. I know it's not about the money you spend, it's the thought but it's always nicer to have the money to get people something you know they'd want rather than get smaller "token" presents.
As for treating myself, my wife would look around at my book, DVD or CD collections and tell you I have no problem with that! In truth, I don't spend a lot on these at all as I get most second hand and buy maybe one every couple of months or so but have to admit to the cumulative effect over the years!
If you have your wife's blessing then go for it! Different guitars all have their own particular qualities and sounds/tones or fit certain styles which is why so many players have more than one or, if they dont, they hanker after them! Anyhow, I hope you manage to find an acoustic that suits your needs.
