There was a piece on Brownhill on the TeamTalk website a month ago, said Vinni was aware of interest in him from several clubs and as he didn't want to lose him we would be taking up the option to extend his contract by a year, while trying to persuade him to sign a longer term contract.
I still can't see this Mirror story as much more than a hack doing his job, trying to fill column inches, sell papers or get people to click onto their website. So some clubs are interested in Brownhill, well I'll go to the foot of our stairs, they'll be telling us that bears **** in woods next.
I am not sure what the exact legal position is but it is my explicit understanding that if the player's contract includes a clause for the owning club to trigger a 12 month extension the player can't do anything about it.
I'm sure someone will tell me otherwise. >:)
That's my understanding as well, if we choose to extend his contract he's our player until the summer of 2025 and there is no pressure on us to sell next month. Wolves can meet our valuation of £20 million or they can feck off. Different story next summer though, when we will have to think about cashing in.Quote:
