I realised just how good Beyer was at this level, he would have had a field day today running through the midfield.

A slow build up will always lead to a team having to play through a packed defence. City have the players to do it, we will always struggle
unless SP can come up with something. If possession is the stat to maximize it will never happen. I too wonder about Trafford, Is he playing to orders or does he want a kick now and then.
Apart from Trafford's early errors where we were lucky not to be a goal down early doors I thought it was a good performance considering it was virtually a new team. All the new signings looked fine apart from C J Egan wotsit who was worse than useless. After our goal I thought it was going to be a walk over but credit to them they got a goal from nowhere and then raised their game. Despite all our possession it could have gone either way even after they had a player sent off. They are a good team but with a decent striker we would have beat them, the fact that brownhill was our biggest goal threat says a lot though Foster was unlucky with his header off the post. We are as we were last season, lacking a prolific goal scorer.
Considering all that's happened in the past week I feel optimistic. Well done SP under difficult circumstances.
I would have settled for a draw after last week but please everyone get off Foster's back, he led the line brilliantly yesterday and tried his little socks off.
I might have missed it mon ami, but so far I've not seen any criticism of Foster, he seems to be getting the credit he deserves for that performance, he certainly needs some help in the goalscoring department, but to point that out is not criticising him.
