In my opinion the cost of purchasing a full Adult ticket for the Hearts and St Mirren home games should have been taken into consideration before the cost of a reduced price season ticket was announced.

And how do you suggest supporters clubs run their buses, we already run at a lose before the tyres move, if half the bus didn’t have a ticket then how do we pay for the bus, there is no way to keep everyone happy but this surely helps regular away fans get tickets, don’t think it would be fair for someone that attends all away games to miss out on a “big” match because a home bartender decides he fancies a certain match
They should queue up like season ticket holders who are not a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club to purchase a ticket for an Away game.
The current set up has created two separate classes of Dundee Football Club season ticket holders with priority being given to those season ticket holders who are members of a DSA affiliated supporters club.
Islay, are the DSA clubs not based on organising buses for the away games? Seems to me that a good away support is something that our club should support and try to encourage. On balance I think jdfc has made a reasonable case for the current system.
Do you think that any DSA members are non ST holders?
Up to last Saturday’s DSA AGM there were 32 DSA affiliated supporters clubs with a further 4 supporters clubs joining on the day.
At the meeting John Burke the Dundee FC Supporters Liaison Officer (SLO) asked that supporters clubs notify him by email two days before an away game takes place the number of supporters buses which are travelling to an away game.
I asked how many Dundee FC supporters buses travelled to away games. John replied that it varied but it was normally 8 buses.
Some of the large supporters clubs can take two buses to an away game.
I am a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club and I do not have a season ticket.
According to John Nelms the DSA has between 5,500 and 6,000 members but last season around 3,500 season tickets were sold which includes a lot of season ticket holders who are not members of a DSA affiliated supporters club.
It has previously been posted on Internet forums that there are about 1,000 members in total who are members of a DSA affiliated supporters club. The Friends of Dundee Football Club Facebook group which is a DSA affiliated supporters club has 4,000 members but unlike the other Dundee FC supporters club there is no annual membership fee for the Friends of Dundee Football Club Facebook group members.
If you read my post carefully you would have seen that most of the DSA affiliated supporters clubs do not run buses to away games but the season ticket holders of all the DSA affiliated supporters clubs were given first priority to purchase a ticket for the away game against Dundee United at Tannadice.
It is not right.
Everyone who purchases a season ticket from Dundee Football Club should receive the priority whether they are a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club or not.
Season ticket holders who are members of a DSA supporters club did not have to stand in a long queue for up to 4 hours which other season ticket holders had to do to purchase their ticket for the United game at Tannadice last month from the remaining available tickets after the DSA had first priority.
Members of DSA affiliated supporters clubs received priority for purchasing tickets for the Dundee Football Club 50th Anniversary Dinner celebration of winning the League Cup on 15th December 1973. Noahrab who appears to be a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club should know this.
The dinner was held on Friday 26th January 2024.
Members of DSA affiliated supporters clubs had priority for over two weeks to purchase tickets for this dinner before they went on sale to the general public on 15th December 2023.
Incidentally the 50th anniversary dinner should have been held on Friday 15th December 2023 but by the time the Club contacted the Invercarse Hotel only 26th January 2024 was available.
For the record the last time I attended a Dundee FC game at Tannadice Park was on 18th March 1972 when we defeated the Dabs to 2-0 in Forfarshire Cup final.
I do not understand why supporters travel to away games as their admission money is being given to the home club.
This is definitely one of those scenarios that you cant please everyone.
J wants to fill he,s bus (fair enough) tough gig with prices these days
Boy prefers the train, goes to every game and is like those on the supporters bus a season tic holder, why is he handicapped by not being a member of a supporters club.
Both valid cases imo
