Byfield at Arsenal. Can remember ending up about 3 rows in front after the goal
Sometimes it's not the obvious games.
I went mental when Stewart Evans scored in the last minute at Preston
Also Mendonca's 2nd away at Bolton
Was in the US when this game was played. While travelling through the airport on our way home, a Gooner saw my Millers shirt and said 'Well done for last night'.....me thinking we'd won only for him to say.....'Hard luck on the result!' Euphoric to sadness all in the space of 5 seconds that's how I felt.
I remember a FA Cup match against Newcastle at Millmoor back in 1993. They were flying high under Keegan I believe and the place went pretty mental when Nigel Johnson equalised in a 1-1 draw. We lost the replay 2-0
Remember that replay well as I went up to St James Park. Drove my then Manager up as he was a Newc fan, it was a pretty hard drive home with him gloating though. Next day the b.astard had me transferred to a different branch in the business but never told me before we set off in case I told him to stuff it. Did me a massive favour though as I progressed my career a lot quicker working in Sheffield.
I think an Emlyn Hughes crazy horse charge and 30 yard wonder goal (as player manager) in a 16-without-loss run that took us from bottom to almost promotion in div2 as I remember it.
The things that sprung to mind for me, where a cold, snowy, open away end in Carlisle in the AWS and I imagine the game this brought us to.
The other would be my first visit to HIllsbrough.
A. Divot assisted by J.McBride 😆
If I'm allowed a non Millers one, it would be another cold snowy night game and another 2nd leg
This time a WCQ play-off game in Budapest, November 2015.
A late Norway OG v Hungary to make it 3-0 on aggregate to rhe Magyars sent just about every one a little bit crackers.
An even later Norway goal couldn't stop Hungary qualifying for their first major tournament for almost 40 years I think it was.
What a night.
