Taking the option of extending his contract for that extra year seems even more bizarre now. That and the fact they spent weeks looking for a replacement then let him spend £200 mil on Dutch players.

His payoff will affect their spending in terms of PSR, will it not?

It should hurt them PSR esq in Jan but as Pat says, I could well see them wriggingling out of it somehow.

I see the Sporting Manager is the one they are going for.
