Problem was if true he was adament he only wanted Guehi and nobody else the blame lies fully with Eddie but i suppose we will never know, at least it looks like manure wont be going above us so thats one bright spark for today.

Headline results against Arsenal and Liverpool are NOT going to define our season.
As we are going now, no chance we are making Europe next year? and if that happens 2 years in a row then we?ll see some players looking for an exit.
Talk of Howe not being backed in the transfer window? so that?s going to change in a hurry and we?ve got a couple hundred million to spend somewhere coming soon?
It looks (to me) is he can?t motivate them. They are motivating themselves to play Arsenal and Liverpool.
The thing I have been calling out all season is we should have a ?silver lining? of not business in the transfer market and the players should be a close knit unit who play like they know where their team mates should be? not seeing it.
They should be well drilled to take on low blocks? not seeing it.
They should be well drilled in set pieces and free kicks? you get the point.
I like Howe, but anything less than 6 points against Leicester and Ipswich is gonna really thrown the cat among the pigeons.
If he fails to do that, and we go into the final games of the first half of the season (Villa and Man U) when the transfer window is about to open? are the club going to do everything they can to support a manager that they should have questions about?
Finally? worst case, and I like the guy but the shine and sparkles have all come off for me, if we pull the trigger in Jan (or later)? but the likes of West Ham and possibly Spurs pull the trigger beforehand and recruit? then the pool of candidates is smaller and our options reduced.
I dunno man, feels like I was given false hope against the scousers? and it?s back down to earth with a bump today.
I think that if we don't get Europe then Eddie will be gone to be honest.
I did and I think I still do, think he'll get this season - however, we have hit the point that I wouldn't be surprised if he was fired before Jan.
If that does happen though, we better have someone lined up, basically ready to go rather than spend a month chosing targets etc.
Equally, if we do fire Eddie, it's gona cost us in PSR terms.
2 wins in last 11 games I've just seen as well. . .
We are having a poor season so far - that is clear. Seems to be a series of false dawns (the win at Forest, the game on Wednesday) where I expected us to kick on but we havent.
I was just thinking though. Do I think Pep should be sacked by City? No chance. Hes a much better manager than Eddie (best in the world?) but having a terrible run. Is it his fault? Probably not (although he is responsible). It shows that even the best can have runs of poor results.
Its too early to think about removing EH, but hes (deservedly) under scrutiny.
Eddie has enough credit in the bank-easily, imo-to ride this out.
He'll get it right and he deserves the chance to do that.
They had Silva saying they have 13 fit players? last season no one suggested Howe should get the boot.
At the moment we have Botman and Krafth unavailable at the minute.
If Pep had 2 players missing, they?d likely be 1st or 2nd? they are still 4th in the league.
All things considered, we?re playing worse this season than last season? and if this continues we?ll finish lower in the table this season compared to last.
I know we didn?t improve whereas other did, but we are massively under-performing this season without a valid justification of injured players? and the buck stops with Eddie.
West Ham and Palace games were the massive red flags for me? anything less than 6 points from Leicester and Ipswich is the final straw.
Just a thought here on the game just gone.
Everyone moaned when we started Longstaff & Murphy.
We were in the game, Longstaff hitting the bar and us scoring our 2 goals whilst those two undesirables were on the field.
We bring on Gordon and Tonali & in the captains words "It was a mess".
I don't remember Tonali having a shot at goal. I don't remember Gordon creating a single chance for Isak or Wilson.
I was expecting massive improvements in both positions.
So I have to ask everyone here. What were you watching?
The manager chose the right team to compete, when he had to make change, bringing on the ?90 odd million in talent to change the game. They let him down.
You can argue about the defence.
I'd counter with we didn't sign a CB Tosin or Guehi in summer and we're paying for that time and again. Recruitment - Not the manager.
Sacking Howe is gonna cause more instability which is exactly what we don't want.
The players have to take responsibilty once again for a shocking 2nd half performance.
We were in that game until the substitutions.
Just my opinion but from what I'm watching the Manager is doing what he can with the tools at his disposal. Those above have let him down and those of the pitch are letting us the fans down.
The league is really tight, and most teams are being inconsistent.
We've seen runs like this and then we've seen us rejuvenate and go on a consistent run again so I'm not worried at this point in time.
I said in another thread that those in charge may not give Eddie much more time if results don't improve quickly but I for one am willing to give him a bit more time to turn things around.
I think he deserves that.
Eddie wasn?t backed in the summer? at all! In team terms, that means we?ve gone backwards.
In reality, It doesn?t matter if Eddie turned around and said ?I only want Guehi?
That might have been his personal No1 target.
However, managers don?t buy the players? how involved are they when you have clubs buying players and they don?t even have a manager in place.
It?s a sporting director / director of football / performance etc that do this stuff.
There?s a reason they?re all now head coaches or whatever.
It was a summer of upheaval, losing the guy we were relying on to land our targets. Too late for Mitchell to have an impact as he hasn?t had a chance to assess the squad.
A decision was made by someone, somewhere to keep the powder dry.
Hopefully to see us push on in the January window (which we?ve made some awesome buys in this window)
We were hamstrung by PSR, having to sell to buy? and I?m under no illusion we signed that Forest keeper so they had the money to buy Anderson? allowing both clubs to balance their books in the process.
I?m not calling for Eddie to be gone, I want him backed, new signings lift the club.
He?s done what he can to improve the players he has it his disposal, he needs new blood to take not just the individual players to the next level, but the entire team.
