To be fair Animal, I remember YN saying that the aforementioned defenders were of championship standard back in September of last season.

Go on then Nudger I will bite , no one has ever slagged Shepherd off on here or any other player for that matter , the club however has been criticised by many because of their policy of selling off our better players and replacing them with players who were clearly not ready hence the reason such as Shepherd and Loparta were sent out on loan to improve their game . On the subject of slagging players off I can only recall one poster on here who has done that and that is you , you continually slated Herbie Kane and as well as slagging him off regularly you also stooped low enough to insult him by referring to him as "The Crab " , the old saying of people in glass houses comes to mind , maybe you should consider returning to the BBS with Mr Dawson where slagging players and coaches off is the norm and yes I havn"t forgot the constant slagging off of Mr Collins who incidentally left the club with dignity ,its a pity you didn"t speak about him in the same manner , so do not come on here having cheap shots at posters who offer genuine opinions.
Todays line up:
Killip (GK), Russell, Pines, de Gevigney, O'Keeffe, Gent, McCarthy, Keillor-Dunn, Humphrys, Connell (c), Nwakali.
Subs: Smith (GK), Cotter, Cosgrove, Lofthouse, Craig, Watters, Yoganathan.
Kelechi Nwakali – who makes his first league start – comes in for the suspended Adam Phillips and Conor McCarthy starts a league game for the first time since September 2022 as he replaces the injured Marc Roberts.
Max Watters is back on the bench after injury.
He knows exactly what he's saying Shads and he's got a reply off both you and Animal. It's a sad way of drawing attention to oneself. Yet another hijacked thread by YN. Poor blowk needs to get a life if thy asks me. Still, it takes allsorts.
Back to this afternoon ennyrooard. The changes obviously enforced but let me suggest that there's a massive opportunity for both Pines and McCarthy to put in a performance. The opportunity is right here for them both to establish themselves today and beyond. Can they take it?
2nd best first half and the way we lined up defensively for their opening free kick goal was schoolboy stuff.
Game plan I’ve no idea but just hope it’s a game of two halves.
1st Half
PAINFUL viewing.
Connell for Yogga.
Russell for Watters.
Go 343.
Nwakali is only player who is performing.
Where to start , absolutely wide open because the defence and the midfield aren't working together when we are out of possession , there's a huge gap , ffs push up 10 yards further up the pitch and close it .
Attack powder puff , Keillor Dunn don't get me started , how easier a chance do you need man ?
Humphreys trying to cause problems but playing on his own with no support .
Not a hint of a team going on here .
Listen you bunch of fairy cakes , when one of our players is getting pushed around as Russell was with their keeper giving it large too ffs back him up .
Embarrassing and shameful .
2nd Half
More structure this half - but still a lack of ideas going forward.
The players seem to have low confidence in their build up play because they know there?s an inability to score.
It was clearly apparent that the confidence of the players going forward greatly improved once the 1st goal was scored.
This team is crying out for a proper out and out striker.
Nwakali easily man of the match.
DC cannot afford to leave him out of the starting lineup.
A game of two halves much better in the second period but a bit nervy near the end and shouldn?t have been the case had Keillor Dunn put that one on one away.
Nwakali the best player on the pitch by a country mile.
Very pleased I have to say for the 400 that travelled well done to them.
Much better second dig and clearly benefiting from Clarke reading them the riot act at half time I suspect .
More intensity , we worked harder and were more positive .
First half we made Exeter look much better than they actually were .
Saying that I'd take their central defender Tristan Crama all day long who is on loan to them from Brentford , absolute class act and has one thing we haven't got , pace .
Who the feck is running the recruitment strategy these days ?
