Secondly there is Warne, whose actions can certainly seem puzzling, his tactic switches are they down to the players he has available or his attempts to combat the team being played? Switching Adams to defence was bizarre and cost us the goal, surely a revision to 442 OR putting Rooney on would ahve been a better decision. His preference for wing play and getting crosses in isn't working, its too one dimensional, things need to change.
I'd take issue with RA saying Warne has sold 3 of our best prospects, I'm sure he would have preferred to keep them but certainly whilst we were in league 1 finances dictated otherwise and its a Board decision, albeit Warne has to agree, but then if a player wants to go is there much that can be done to stop them? Cashin's sale is understandable, if the proceeds are reinvested, which it seems they are, (mind you after todays thrashing by the Trees he might live to regret the move!). Its a fact of life that a club on Derby's finances can only move forward by selling a player like Cashin and reinvesting the money in 2 or 3 new players. One can only hope it works! I'm certain the board are not preparing for L1 at this stage!!
As for Warne's future, well he can only have a few more games before Clowes bites the bullet, relegation would skew the finances, but I' not panicking yet. Just 2 wins and it would be a different picture and yes away at Norwich seems daunting, but hopefully with a couple of new players anything is possible and I wouldn't bet against us picking up pts there.
