I reckon he will give him more time in the hope that the January incomings can right the ship and rightly so. However, if the slump continues then I don't see Warne surviving even though it'll probably be too late to save us whoever comes in.
There's only so much **** that can fly before a clean up is needed!

Don’t think anyone can deny that we’ve been unlucky with injuries but equally I don’t understand the reluctance to play Rooney at RB or CD and the simultaneous willingness to destabilise midfield by moving Adams out of his natural position.
We’ve just sold our best prospect for years (in fact Warne has sold three of our best prospects in the last couple of years) and tbf, there seems a willingness to reinvest much of the Cashin money asap, but why?
The acquisition of the two Vikings and suggestion of two more to follow suggests a greater loosening of the purse strings than we have known in recent times but who for? I mean if we lose, as I imagine we will, at Norwich next week can and should the manager survive, or are we already preparing for a promotion push, from L1, next season under a man who knows how to get out of L1 but not much more? :confused:

Cashin's sale is understandable, if the proceeds are reinvested, which it seems they are, (mind you after todays thrashing by the Trees he might live to regret the move!). Its a fact of life that a club on Derby's finances can only move forward by selling a player like Cashin and reinvesting the money in 2 or 3 new players. One can only hope it works! I'm certain the board are not preparing for L1 at this stage!!
As for Warne's future, well he can only have a few more games before Clowes bites the bullet, relegation would skew the finances, but I' not panicking yet. Just 2 wins and it would be a different picture and yes away at Norwich seems daunting, but hopefully with a couple of new players anything is possible and I wouldn't bet against us picking up pts there.

Our run in isn't too bad, there are opportunities there to get out of this. I still think we will, however if our run hasn't improved come 5pm on the 22nd Feb, I'll change my mind.
I've always been Warne in, I don't think he's our future but to be Warne out now if need to know who we put in place, realistically, who can turn things around.

The question for me is whether we’re stronger than we were. I haven’t got time to go through all PW’s signings but there have been a lot. Imo two in particular have been excellent - Adams and Nelson. Where else at our level over the last couple of seasons can you play in such a stadium in front of crowds that compare favourably with our two East Midlands top flight ‘rivals’? Yet players do seem reluctant to come/stay which I understand is sometimes down to money, but I’m also beginning to wonder how much it’s down to playing for such an ordinary manager. I don’t see charisma and I don’t see great man management, Rooney for instance, who happens to be a player I rate, must feel as wanted as a fart in a spacesuit. Maybe I’m wrong or maybe something much more significant is…honestly don’t know.
He needs to turn it around quickly. We may not be being outclassed, but we don't look like we're going to take anything from any game. I've heard people complaining about the style of football, frankly I don't care but we need to be able to wrestle points from games. His interview yesterday annoyed me, he said with 20 mins to go, he was just hoping for the ball to fall to someone and they put it away. That's just hopeful, he needs to give more tactical direction than just hope.
I hope he can turn it around and keep us up by hook or cranny, if we survive I would replace him in the summer, if not, he's probably the best person to get us back up.
One assumes Clowes has a contingency plan if we go down but personally I HOPE it DOESN'T include Warne because imo he will have used up all available goodwill amongst the fans and, as it seems unlikely he would change his game plan, even IF we came back up we would be in the same situation with a style of play that is, again imo, easily countered in the Championship!Quote:
