92 goals from 412 appearance should be impressive at league one level.
Game for game around the same as smithy though at a much higher level.
Are Rotherham fans fickle or correct?
I see it like this. We have seen much better performances from Jordan and there is a footballer in him but of late, he hasn't delivered like we know he can. He is needed now more than ever and this is where fans frustrations boil over seeing nothing in return from him but it doesn't have to be abusive or personal.
As for his wages, no footballer will turn down a contract if a club is stupid enough to pay them what fans see as over the odds. Football is a very short career unless you get into management/training after you retire so you make as much as you can while you can, fact!
He has a Wife and two very young Daughters to provide for. He has done very well for himself and good for him. As for his current contract and delivery of late, no club will take him on so, he remains with us until his contract is up in another 1.5 seasons. There's always the option for Stewart to sit down and thrash out a buy him out with him but, at what cost to Stewart and is Hugill willing to take that pay cut seeing as this may well be his last high earning contract?
It's down to Evans/Raynor to turn his performance around that is what they are paid to do and more importantly, for Jordan to take a good hard look at himself with a view to delivering what he first did on arrival at RUFC. Yes his stats of late are not acceptable but booing/jeering him off the pitch ala Chesterfield won't help the situation.
I suppose it's another Danny Schofield situation where Jordan may well just ride his contract out and if he's reputedly on what our fans guess he is, who can blame him for not seeing his full contract out, I don't, but I would like to see the Jordan Hugill that first arrived at the club start to deliver again, afterall this is League 1 so he should be ripping it up.
I feel for Hughill. He has had some stick, seen the fanfare of JCH arrival and the subsequent dropping from the first team. No one knows what money he is on but didn't Evans say once at the start of the season that the rumors were nonsense and he wasn't the highest earner at the club?
His current goals to time on the pitch this season is better than JCH. He's more mobile than JCH, can win a header, hold up well and score from inside or outside the box.
At the time we got him it was him or Billy Sharpe. Probably similar wage.
He doesn't fit the mold of what Rotherham fans like so see in a striker, the falling on your arse was getting groans from day one.
We always seem to have a striker to be a scapegoat. Goater would get some right stick, Don page another and to an extent so did Ogbene.
Interesting post from someone that seems to know a bit about the situation.
Billy sharpe had chosen Hull ahead of Derby though until he got the offer to play in America.
Rotherham united were in competition with Derby County for the signature of Hughill. Derby stopped with the bidding war with us when it got to ?12k per week.
Well I am touched by all the loser-love for a loser wage thief who should be back on JSA.
As for my achievements, the people across my profession know them internationally, so I won't be dropping my pearls in your particular trough sota.
And as for the double-negative being above anybody's level... well, I don't know what I can't say about that.
As some have said, he should not be in the squad. I would make him train alone, give him no access to any other players and make life as tough for this wage-thieving filth as possible short of the civil action he would love to bring.
His little Sun piece - for which I GUARANTEE he will have been paid - was all about the money he earned.
He has out-Dextered Blackstock and if this club had ANY brains at all it would make an example of him.
If only to end these payday queens for whom we are becoming a magnet.
I've worked for some tough managements who would never have stood for this.
They would have found, or engineered, a way to sack him on the spot for breach of contract.
And then held his head up on a pikestaff for all the other laikers to look and lick at.
Did I really say earned... Freudian slip from a Rovrum lad who always tried to earn his money.
