And surely it is too much to hope that we will have promotion sewn up by Game 45 either.
Buckle up.

You never know just how important games like these might turn out to be, they can completely change your direction of travel for years to come.
One of the most pivotal games in Notts' entire history was a last Saturday home game of the season fixture v Doncaster Rovers, basically a relegation decider to stay in tier 2. We would have stayed up if we'd won the game but we were 0-4 down at HT and lost 0-5. Fword went on to win the FA Cup the following season as we crashed straight through to the newly formed 4th division.
Worrying about whether Notts are ready or not to go up is daft. One bad season in tier 3 and the worst that happens is you're still in the FL. One bad season at this level and it's hello Woking, Fylde and Ebbsfleet again.
Hopefully we can get a fully fit squad, with players used in their best positions. No unnecessary chopping and changing, and the rest will take care of its self..
One team invariably makes a late promotion charge; it could be Colchester this season (Salford’s season seemed to implode after conceding 8 in the FA Cup - something we know all about).
Colchester’s games:
Fleetwood Town (H)
Bradford City (A)
Grimsby Town (H)
Gillingham (A)
Notts (H)
Newport County (A)
Crewe Alexandra (H)
Doncaster Rovers (A)
Salford City (A)
Barrow (H)
So Notts are on 61 points, in two of the last four seasons 81 points have achieved automatic promotion from EFL2 With 10 games left theres a possible 30 points highly unlikely however an exciting prospect. Imagine if Notts and Donny on the final day were in 2nd & 3rd place 3 points above the 4th place team and both teams only needed a point to be promoted and they played out a draw and were both promoted. Now that kind of scenario is. "Roy of the rovers" stuff.
