I completely concur that negative tactics and an inability to convert penalties cost us dearly this season, but I wouldn?t change the manager.
However, I would beg him to avoid the negativity and suicide passing, but then again, I, we and a thousand others might as well speak to a brick wall, because football managers seem to do what they think is right and to hell with the punters who have supported Queens all their lives.

I would tend to agree with the point that more positive tactics need to be utilised on a weekly basis, particularly at the level the club currently sit. This reared it's head again in the first leg of the play-off, albeit Cove's pressing contributed also.
In terms of the manager listening to fans, I would lose all respect for him if this happened as there would be no return from the weakness shown. He's in a well paid (i would assume) job to make his own decisions, something he will have many qualifications and experience to do and does not need a bunch of two bit fans telling him what he is doing wrong. Opinions are fine, yes, however I am happy to admit Murphy knows what he's doing in that role far more than I do. Footballs a strange sport in many ways but not for that reason.
The alternative sporting equivalency would be me approaching Novak Djokovic or Rory McIlroy in the middle of their match/round and advisng them that the shot they played was idiotic and they'd be a fool for not listening to me. It would be an opinion yes but I'd fully expect to be told where to go and be put back in my metaphorical box.
We should keep voicing opinions undoubtedly as that's what makes our sport great but maybe temper our expectations that we know better otherwise there's not much point in a manager.
100% agree with every word of this post. Every person has an idea on how we should be playing the game and who should be playing and who should be left out. I would guarantee that if we were a team that attacked constantly and get caught out on breaks constantly then most would say we should be more defensive. I could go on and on. But that?s what makes the game great. Everyone has an opinion. Whether that be tactics or team selection or even if the referee has got a decision correct.Quote:

Murphy will be here again next season and hopefully he?s learned from any mistakes he may of made in his first season as a full time manager.

Yes, they are full time but let's not forget the guy can only work with the tools he has. Vast improvement at the end of the season but all teams go on runs at various points throughout.
I maintain the view that I will respect his position over any fan, of which I am one obviously. If we listened to fans in the past couple of seasons, most on here were of the view that Bartley was the second coming. The way he was lauded and applauded was ridiculous. I'm glad I held my counsel until he proved what he could or couldn't do.
And more recently, Ross Stewart was absolutely lambasted by the fans when he signed. He's been player of the year for me
Basically sums up the point I?m trying to make. Footballs fans in general are a bunch of hypocrites. It was only 3 months ago that many on here and elsewhere were shouting for Murphy to go and that he just doesn?t listen to any advice from any of the fans. Now after a run of wins the same fans will be worried if he walks. Yet if we were to dare tell a lot of people how to do there jobs then they would be raging, even walk from there jobs. I think Murphy has done okay but it did indeed take that late run to even make the play offs. He does seem a cautious manager but we did and still need stability. He has an eye for a player as his only real miss was McIntosh but he did move him on at the next window.
Our goals for especially away needs to turn round although fine lines and penalties could have changed the season. Hopefully a good few of the players will be kept although I think all the players he inherited will be moved on.
Time for a rest for the players and the fans before it all starts again.
Some very interesting points on this forum, but I can only hope that Murphy has learned to be more positive. I 100% agree that the manager needs to make the decisions, - but equally, - he is a young man, and he is still learning his craft. If the 1000 QOS fans all had their own unique view, - then it would be insane to attempt to follow each opinion, but when 1000 fans plead with you to be more positive and practice penalties, - I suspect it is in your own best interests to at least take on board the opinion of the vast majority. After all, - a large percentage of those fans have played or coached for many years, - its not as if they are complete imbeciles.
I do love the passion of supporters and debate around same and I certainly wouldn't be calling fellow fans imbeciles, albeit I do question their behaviour sometimes.
This leads me to the 1000 or so fans in general. Approx 150 of those will be made up of kids. Now let's be honest an experienced football man, player and coach is not going to be taking guidance of people, the main priority of whom will be Domino's or KFC or what time to get out of bed at the weekend. I also question the judgement of those that take 400 degree flares into a crowded area and a large group to then sing about it. Take away the rest of the sensible fans, there are also a number that spout language and views that would make Bernard Manning walk out the ground. In essence, I like the idea that fans should always have opinions, very much like I do, however for a manager to take on board said opinions and follow them through is folly at best.
I also played at a half decent level when younger but wouldn't be expecting Peter Murphy to be seeing me out for my opinion on tactics or for the players to look for my expertise on penalty techniques. It's their job......
I'm almost certain I would have been in some sort of school play/nativity when younger, however that doesn't qualify me to guide Daniel Day-Lewis through his next role.
Let's just place a bit of trust in the man for next season and see where we are.
