No, it's from the head coach. Williams used to go out to win, which meant generally at home we'd win but away from home we'd get sucker punched.

Maynard goes out not to lose which means generally away we do ok and at home we are rubbish. Ponderous, cautious football kills the crowd and then its just flat. Is hard to get excited about Platt bassing to Bedau, who passes to Palmer, who then knocks it back to Platt who then passes to Macari/McDonald who then passes to Gordon who then passes to Abbott who then goes back to Platt or Bass. In that entire sequence, we just about get to the half way line...

Couple of points of automatic, play offs, very decent crowds, some great performances (admittedly some poor ones too), I think he deserves a bit of credit. If people think this is **** football then where have you been the last 40 years B)

So what were those great performances you mentioned at home, Other than the MK game. ?

I understand getting behind the team, singing, positivity etc, that is a given. If you do not understand what that can bring to a team, then I cannot help you.

But, I really dislike the old, the fans should do more to help the team out. Not having it. It is that team, alongside the management teams responsibility to do the business whether there are 0, 10,000 or 100,000 fans watching them.

I do agree that at times the ML crowd can be quiet, but even if 15,000 turn up tomorrow and decide to sit in total silence, the players need to do the business.

A positive coach would interpret that as we don't only have to win but we should try to win well because the 2nd half is at their ground.
I got the opposite feeling from this, and the mention of a clean sheet (there is no away goals rule in this!) that it just means 'keep yourself in it'. I really hope I got that wrong

I've been meaning to post on here though that we do have a really good leader of this squad. At this stage though I don't think the team are looking at SM for leadership. They're getting it from David McGoldrick. The way they respond and look up to him, the vote for Players Player of the Year, his presence and positivity...I think he's much more of a captain/leader figure out there that Matty tbh
I think Didzy wants to really grab this chance for promotion and that gives me a lot of cause for optimism.

What he means by mindful is not to be reckless in the first leg as there is another game it?s standard PR management speak all managers in the play offs know the score you just have to play the media game.

I find lots of managers quite boring in press conferences and the reason is if they speak out it?s all on social media and people not letting sleeping dogs lie.

I get some fans do t like him as manager but take a look at our Twitter page our club are trying to drum up support and positive vibes and you get idiots on there saying ?When you sacking Maynard? it?s idiotic and makes the person look stupid as the club aren?t going to say 3rd June mate !

Dunno about that...depends what's meant by 'reckless' there...

But I do think he means not pushing for as big an advantage as possible in the home leg - and if it's 0-0, 1-1, 1-0 or 2-1 after 60mins, being less attacking than a regular league game, rather than more. Wimbledon would be happy with that and gives them more chance to get on top and score. I suppose we'll see tomorrow.

My cunning plan would be to go out and score one more than them...!!!!

I don?t think he is saying that at all he is probably saying we need to stay calm as a team, fans and management if it?s say level at full time.

It?s hard to really know what he means unless you get him on his own off the record I?ve paid zero attention to what any managers say in press conferences as they mean very little as it is something they are forced to do but probably don?t want to but he sets the team up and the players have to go out there and do it.

Are we supporters or an audience?
Supporters are an active part of the match and can influence results.
An audience just watches and claps or boos at the end.
If someone goes to the match and just watches they may as well stay at home and watch it on the tv / radio.
