I have a couple of supporters in my office that are scum fans. It's been a delightful year. Don't have to say a thing to them. It's horrid football on the eyes, old trafford is like a tomb and the matches are put on the lowest streaming option NBC has. They are in the same league as the relegated teams as far as coverage goes here in the US
Spurs are just as bad but I don't get the same joy watching them as I do the scum fans. They have been underachievers for so long that it's really not as joyful. They are also a much better trading partner than scum ever have been for us.
Had a Brit in the office the other day. High ranking exec at Lloyds. He was really surprised at the intensity and knowledge some of the kids in the office had. One of them pointed to me to answer one of his questions on why. Just looked at him and advised "you play for keeps, relegation, promotion, PSR and real stakes for the supporters". US sports is just like beauty contest. Money buys you into the pro team and you never have to worry about winning or losing. The winners are usually pre determined. I then couldn't help myself and added "be careful... the super league will do the same thing to football". They are trying and they are relentless.
