We have to trust Eddie BUT??
I see a lot of this. If Wilson, Ruddy, etc left and the performance of the whole squad dropped, are we happy? This is where hes coming from I believe.
Do yous trust him or not? 😃

I don't trust Eddie with transfers..
I don't think he is ruthless enough with players either.. I love him as our coach but I think we need a broader approach than just the British isles when looking for potential players
I am comfortable with EH being given a shot then see what happens. Its just a pity the club couldn't find someone to work in tandem who was acceptable to all.
It is wbat it is but think it comes with a caveat of unforeseen problems. Needs to take on a bit of Fergie ruthlessness now.
Could be making a rod for his own back with this.
He will have to prove that he can be ruthless this summer. There is no room for sentiment. It will come back to bite him in the a$$ if he relies on Longstaff and Willock and Wilson to change games for him next season.
They've proven they can not do it this season. The rest of the squad, the first teamers are on the knees and we've suffered since Joelinton went out injuried, Hall became unavailable and Isak dropped off a cliff due to his lack of fitness.
That is the one and only issue I have with Eddie.
I think one thing to consider is Howe?s reluctance to give players time until he feels they are completely ready as to his standards.
Yeah, 80% ready fine, but we have seen Osula given a pittance in terms of playing time, even when Isak was clearly struggling to perform, in the last 6/7? games, to the standards he set for himself for the majority of the season.
I think that has counted against us when it comes to Delap, and I?m not going to lose sleep over him not joining (Chelsea all but nailed on apparently) but that could count against us with any other striker we approach too.
The biggest positive I see about Howe calling the shots, is that if we go after a player now they know that the man who picks the team is the one who asked the club to sign them? they know he has earnt his job and is safe in it too? so they should have confidence that they?ll play.
Maybe it is just Osula was a player Howe had 0 input into us signing him, so he?s reluctant to play him more.
This is getting interesting. Im not criticizing anyone here but noone fully trusts him on this thread so far.
Yeah I agree, he's really protective of players and doesn't put them in until he's absolutely sure they can do the job. Sometimes as mentioned to the detriment of the rest of the squad.
Osula came in via Tindle's network from his time Sheffield Utd. We all thought the same of Hall last season, that Howe didn't want him but it turns out to be the opposite. He was protecting him and fine tuning him to hit the ground running which is been when he exploded on the scene this past season.
So I do expect Osula to get the same progression/step up next season. He could also be another negative in terms of bringing in another player.
Delap will look at Jackson and think "I'm better than him, I'll make the starting position mine." Maresca & Palmer have been instrumental in attracting Delap to the Blues according to Fab - Deal done.
However, Chelsea have also, apparently agreed to pay the Frankfurt release clause fee for Ekitike.

CHELSEA BOMB! SESKO, EKITIKE, DELAP, CHERKI AND MORE STRIKER MOVEMENTS
Didnt realise that Osula was down to JT which makes it even stranger now 🤣
Hall I was at the home game (Everton) when he got the first of his run in the team for a spell, and I can understand why Howe was holding him back. The role of a fullback requires a lot more fitness than the role Osula is being asked to play, bombing up and down the line. Hall looked gassed after 15 mins and he was slow to react when he got the ball at times. I remember saying on here the delay on the ball when he got it looked like he didnt look confident.
Thats changed with the more games he has.
Same when I was banging on about Tonali starting, with Longstaff being preferred. We heard rumours of his lack of fitness, which didnt make sense as he played 2 full 90 minutes for Italy in the very early international break this season and was their best player so he was clearly fit.
No manager is perfect, every manager makes mistakes, Howe has obviously got more right than wrong in his time here, the players clearly love him and the fans do too, but I think Howe does has a proclivity to want players to be perfect for him to start selecting them and I also think that to reach that final 10% they have to be playing to reach match fitness and sharpness.
He also has an apparent weakness where he will leave underperforming players in his starting selection till they turn the corner and put in a good performance best example of that is Tripps when he was going through a lot of stuff off the field and it showed in his performances.
Overall Howe is definitely the right man for the job, and being too loyal is hardly the worst thing for a manager to be but it does have a negative impact on the overall team at times if Tonali had being played from the start of the season I think wed have finished higher and not had any worries about CL football at all, but it didnt cost us more than a few positions in the end so Im not banging on about it any more.
Hopefully with him calling the shots now, and if we can complete business as early as Eddie wants, then the players could have a full pre-season with the squad and will be Eddie-ready for the start of next season.
Also, on Delap and Chelsea, I saw this morning that they are looking at making a formal approach for Gyokeres too? hopefully Delap hasn?t signed a contract yet because that should be making him reconsider they are his best option 😉
Why not trust him? He's been around enough to know what type of player he wants and the sort of ticks to mark off that he needs.
After all it's he who has to mold them into a team and work with them every day.
I couldn't imagine the likes of Sir Bobby, Fergie, Shanks, Paisley or Busby being told that someone else was running their show.
