It was Said on the Magpie Circle last night that the Saunders Brothers left because of Disciplinary reasons make of that what you will

You don?t think you have it in for them? Ok but your views on the owners is heavily slanted one way and I?m trying to work out why? Especially with the obvious recent predecessors performances.
I believe as the bros barely say anything then they massively reduce the chances of over promising and under delivery. Saying stuff just for the sake or prematurely to appease fans. What silence does encourage is baseless speculation and conspiracy theories in some quarters and more importantly it promotes judging them in their actions rather than their words. Nothing wrong with that in my mind and nothing to do with viewing them as perfect.
Why do we need to see or hear about the inner workings, what?s going on behind the scenes especiallly when the trajectory you speak of for the past 5 years has been upward both on and off the field and so many fronts. Why do we need panic? The need to ask questions is when things are going badly. Have they been going badly under these owners? I don?t think so, quite the opposite.
Whether it?s a Brentford model or a Luton model, however realistic or not each is, they have a plan and long term approach and they are backing themselves with heavy investment. When was the last time we had either of those?
Some good points but should panic be setting in at the moment, panic imo should be saved for things like the common lines of the past ?staff haven?t been paid?, not going up this season will be hugely disappointing and it would need to be reviewed properly why in the summer but I don?t think it should bring out panic.
I?ll be classed as having my tongue up their back passages or an apologist but I don?t think anyone?s think they?ve got everything bang on. Its more an acknowledgment of its really difficult in football to get it right all the time, there?s too many variables, but can understand the strategy they have taken.
Not every signings been great, IB and SM seen as questionable appointments but when people want to buy your players, take your managers, take your director of football it?s the true acid test of you?re getting something right and unfortunately unless your in group of about 2 or 3 clubs in the world you can?t keep hold of talent if someone else wants them.
Brentford have spent three full years in the PL, none of which have seen them in relegation trouble. This season they sit 12th, four points off a Top Half finish. This season they have spent roughly £60 Million on transfer and received about the same in fees in.
Prior to that they spent seven seasons in The Championship with 11th being their lowest finish. Before that, four years in L1.
In the same time frame, Luton have:
Four years in the NL.
Four in L2.
One in L1.
Four in The Championship.
One season in the PL and currently five points off safety back in The Championship.
£15.5 million in Transfer Fees spent and £19 million received.
Everyone wants to go up, everyone wants to win leagues and play as high as possible but this must be weighted against sustainability.
Given the above, you would much rather be Brentford than Luton.
For sure, but Brentford started their journey from a position in L1 and went straight up (or the season after) into the championship after they got taken over IIRC.... and then had 7 consecutive seasons in the top half of tier 2 before going up into the PL. A totally different platform from which to launch.
Luton's revival began in tier 5, a much more relatable and realistic scenario to attempt to mimic, even if they do crash all the way back down again. Who wouldn't take that now if offered?
From the tone of that Saunders self promotion piece I got the feeling that it might actually be their respective other halves who had fallen out and this personal matter sadly spilled over onto the training ground. Perhaps Maynard told Saunders No.2 to put out the cones for a particular training drill and he aggressively refused. I don?t know but my bet is things may have escalated from there to the point where it was the classic ?it?s him or us? ultimatum from Saunders No.1 was laid down before the Powers That Be via Skype or Zoom.
