Yes, very repetitive and I'm not alone in that regard.

Didn't we deservedly beat Stockport in the league also? Great team goal if I remember correctly
Thanks Swale O:)
Contrary to belief i do hope we win against Stockport. The loss was bad against Chesterfield, but in itself is not terminal to our promotion campaign, however a loss to Stockport on Tuesday, i feel would be much more damaging
Chesterfield report now up and a look at why there might be cause for concern . . . https://www.nottscountystats.com/pos...chesterfield-h
It was a bad day at the office yesterday and as a team it was not good enough. However it's how we respond starting with Stockport on Tuesday that is important.
The missing piece of the jigsaw for me this season is goals. Last season Thomas and Dennis scored 22 goals between them in the 38 games we played. We have effectively lost a 20 goal a season striker between both of them. It therefore falls to Sam, Knowles and Effiong to score those 22 goals between them this season. Currently they have three between them and we are at the halfway stage based on last seasons total league games played. So theoretically between them they should have 11 goals by comparison.
Wootton is actually on course to fill some of the void left by Dennis and Thomas as he's got 10 league goals already and last season he scored 13 league goals. But we simply cannot rely on Wootton to score and have all the pressure of scoring on his shoulders.
Last season 25 goals came from midfield and defence. We've scored 10 goals so far from midfielders which if we emulate this over the second half of the season should be able to achieve as no defenders have scored yet so a few might come from them. Plus the return of Cal Roberts.
If we can create more chances and score more goals we can be title winners as our defence is the best in the league in my view. It sounds simple and easy when written down but in football we know scoring goals is the hardest part of the game.
