You and Jacob are correct. I knew one of the cups was drawn in alphabetical order, but that seems to be the Carabao Cup. I got it wrong. My mistake, hands up.

Posh game biggest game of season to date, maybe all season.
All sub decisions lower non-league management stuff.
Bass blunder for their equaliser not SM's fault but compounded the self destruction, albeit Bass had a blinder.
Players not in regular starting XI invariably struggle for match fitness. 15, 20, 30 minutes every so often, playing out of position, going out of cups, not helping.
If people want to know why we probably won't be able to afford new signings in January, this result has contributed to it.
Didn?t watch the game as I?m away and get the negativity around the subs but listened to his interview and he mentioned niggles in the squad and had to make the changes. I wouldn?t say Austin and Ness were downgrades in ability, there was little chance of Scott playing much over 60 mins and the Jatta one doesn?t look good but maybe he has a niggle and he?s just thought we can?t lose him at the moment and tbf he would be right.
It would have been a last chance to tick off another iconic stadium for younger fans. I was there in 1975 for the cup game and still have memories of the match. One is a bit embarrassing - at half time the PA bloke asked the Notts fans if they could keep the noise down as the neighbours were complaining. I was outraged, but when I looked around everyone else was laughing. I was young then and it introduced me to scouse humour! We drew 2-2 and won the replay 2-0 thanks to two goals from Sir Les. Chances like this don't come around too often, really disappointing we missed out.
Then spread them out a bit and use our three sub windows to break up the game and make sure everyone who came on knew what they were doing. Four (basically five) at once was ridiculous, we were all over the place for the next few minutes and within ten the game had gone.
I know I?m a broken record on this but it wasn?t just the subs but the whole lack of game management. Why were we playing passes like the one they got their equaliser from!?!
I’m not sure we even had a shot in that game - I think Maurice Johnson scored the winner for them. Fair to say on reflection that we had a couple of top division players (Draper, Johnson, Craig Short) in an otherwise “second division” squad.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Everton, which comes from having a liking for the “other” team in two-club cities (Everton, Man City, Espanyol, Cercle Bruge - it’s a weird list).
