Assuming the new manager will emerge from the names already mentioned on here and not someone unexpected from left field, I'd go for the Wilder/Knill combo. Both have an affinity with the club and Championship experience. Wilder will have something to prove after his disappointment at Middlesborough - so he may have the drive that some think he lacks. His status might also be what some of our 'stars' need to help them achieve their potential.
i personally would have stuck with Taylor, but anyway.
Certainly don't want Ainsworth, won't go again if he becomes manager until he gets the sack.
Robinson, what's he going to bring to the party no real success where he has been
Evans, well didn't want him the first time but proved me wrong, second time doesn't usually go well.
My choice would be Wilder I have followed his career and always wanted him as our boss ever since he did such a good
job at Halifax. He's an ex player so as an affinity to the club.
I remember when we signed him, my father in law who was a blade praised him highly, not only for his football,
but as a bloke (then young man) He shared a table with him at a Blades function and said what a lovely lad he was.
A few people are saying Eustace cos he did well at Brum. Have folk checked out his stats for them. He lost more than he won. 33 % win rate.
He had a caretaker role before this with QPR. He lost twice as many as he won. If you take out the kiddiminster stats he AVG about 29 wins every 100 games, we have just sacked Taylor for some figures...
Evans, wilder, are the 2 stand out managers from the list. Evans for me as I've never seen wilder do well without cash to spend
Looking at what wilder has achieved Evan at Middlesbrough he had a 40% win rate and that was looked on as not good enough. He's managed 6 clubs and remove Watford 11 games with 2 wins he has over 40% win rate at all the others (314 games). He would be a Great shout
This sums it up - the first page of posts had eight different managers suggested!
Surely this stick your finger in the wind and guess is not the right way.
I only hope the powers that be (more qualified football-wise than me) make the right call. Some previous selections have been way off (Stubbs). In my experience in selecting employees, it's the chemistry between people, rather than outright qualifications, that decide things.
Having said that, football is way different to working in a factory, so that must also be considered. For my ten penneth, select the manager with a good win percentage (at this level hopefully). And FFS someone who changes where the home dugout should be - a small detail but one, in my opinion, that will connect with supporters.
