I don't think they are using him as a scapegoat. LM is simply not good enough at L1 level. No harm in saying that, surely? It is down to the manager not to play LM if he cannot cut the mustard.Quote:

Maybe that player is still waiting to be played in the position he was bought for...not sitting isolated on the left. He is meant to be in the middle feeding the ball out to the likes of moly, coco,waters, like he had murphy doing when he was on loan. So when SD decides to play players in their correct positions and strengths we might get a winning formula going...
If changing positions is like waiting for substitutions we might be waiting a while...
Inman puzzles me, he was outstanding on loan. I remember away at Bury around Easter he was on fire. Best the offside trap and slotted home 1 v 1 with the keeper. He was good cus he was played as a CM where he supposed to. Davis says Inman just isn't doing it, he isn't doing it because he isn't a left winger. Is a CM. Also he is right footed so even harder playing on the left. This loss in form is truly down to Davis' mistakes.
Just a couple of points about Inman.
Firstly, When he was on loan he played wide as Osman and Murphy were in CM for the season until the former got injured in March. I can't recall whether he was left side or right side, but whichever he played his best football for us in that position.
Secondly, regardless of where he sees his best position he, like all players, should play where selected and give of his best in that position, and I don't believe he has always done that. Both Murphys, O'Connor, Westwood, Johnson and many others have started their Alex careers playing wide and moved into the centre over time. We are pretty overloaded with CMs at present but not so blessed with wide players, especially with Colclough's never ending injuries.
Which brings me back to the topic! Molyneux has only ever looked good enough in the two matches at the start of last season and he could learn a lot from Waters about attitude, i.e. he should spend less time moaning about bad passes to him (
Alex Mick, who oh why is your answer to all of our problems to look back at players who have already left.
The debate here is what is wrong with the team now and how can it be put right.
Fond memories of rank average players from the past are irrelevant to this topic.
You are correct in saying that LM may not be good enough for this division, but let's give him a few more games before he is jettisoned !
Once again you are criticising me for making a comparison with an ex-Alex player (Moore). Others have highlighted ex-Alex players too (for instance, Ellis). If I wish to do as such, then I will do that. I don't tell you what to post and what not to post. I am also not alone in my opinion on LM. After last night - and if injuries allow - we may have seen the last of Molyneux for a while, and also Oliver.
Haber, Inman, Waters were a formidable front line, and were well supported by Nolan and Turton.
I think the few of us who were there were watching the line-up that will take us to safety and beyond.
