So it was too early to judge Valencia based on one game but it's not too early to judge Jenkinson on one game XD
The backwards logic of Whiskey strikes again.
Nothing backward about it. What I said was that he was pants against Malaga (in our colours) but in the same sentence I mentioned that a number of Arsenal ST holders who would be able to assess him better than any of us at the present time have told me he was pretty poor.
I don't know what he's like. I've only seen him once and, imo, he was crap. And, in any case, my post was querying someone else's suggestion we drop Demel to accomodate Jenkinson.
If that still confuses you I'm sorr

Nor can I tbh. I know a few Arsenal ST holders and the majority reckon Jenkinson was pretty poor during his time at The Emirates. Only seen him once for us (Malaga friendly) and he was total pants in that game.
As were all the players in that game, so don't think you can judge him on that one game.
shall we let our new players get a few games under their belt before we start the slagging?

Sorry David, that's far too subtle for me. Is it some sort of twitter alert when you're jet lagged?

A sledgehammer would be too subtle for you :D
It's the noise a vehicle makes when it's backing up Whiskey
Your self contradiction in this thread is hilarious :D :D

That's just ridiculous , we'll get found out instantly.
Personally I'd favour the irregular quadrilateral quadrangle, with an unlucky number 13 played in an 888.com formation.
The irregular quadrilateral triangle is a non-starter mate, certainly against Liverpool.
I've been experimenting with a dodecahedron shape to start, but reverting to a Picard Horn if they catch us on the break.
I know it may leave us exposed at the back, but the Picard is by far the most effective hyperbolic three manifold formation there is - particularly against Gerard.

Totally agree Frog, I've been saying it for a while that we need to start getting 3 dimensional with our formations. This constant bleating from some quarters that the players "Can't fu(king fly" just doesn't wash with me, how much do these fu(kers get paid ffs???
I blame the board.

I think it comes down to a refusal by the old school dinosaurs to accept and embrace cutting edge thinking and its application to Football.
If I were in charge, I'd adopt the "Mobius Strip" formation.
That way, we can defend so deeply that, in effect, we'd be attacking. The great advantage of the Mobius Strip approach is that, at its most extreme, we could put the ball in our own net and it would simultaneously appear in the back of the oppositions.
Try it Sam you fu(king luddite hippo.>:(
