Personally, I believe the club is better off the way it is.
Why? Success might interfere with the Cumbrian national hobby of complaining. Which is so regularly evidenced on this MB.
This Cumbrian hobby is well documented far into the distant past.
From the time of Rheged of Yr Hen Ogledd days (the old north), where the records are filled with comments regarding the complaints of the populace of the day.
Back to the Roman records of the region. So much so in the vernacular of the Roman world, the very latin word for "Cumbria" stood doing double duty for "complaining" throughout the greater Empire.
It was common to say, "You're a Cumbrian", in the Roman world. And, it was not a nice thing to say to someone - if they were on about griping over whatever. Or, "Do I hear a Cumbria in the back there?" was a common phase used in meetings or gatherings.

Does anyone think the Lapping scheme,deal or whatever it was called is finished once and for all.Do cufc even want him more to the point if the money tree does not turn up.

I understand that the Lapping deal is still intact, insofar as it was ever complete, and that powder is being kept dry. Up to Thursday, he had no idea of either the agenda, or the outcome of the Trust's meeting.

Given today's statement from the club it would appear that Piglet was right all along. Lapping indeed appears to be an emperor with no clothes. For once it's well done Jenkins and Co. for preventing Lapping from getting his hands on our club.
