Twinkle toes was George Darwin
Glyn Davis was what we want now. He was not a good footballer but great captain. He used to punt the ball down the field and if the winger didn't get it he screamed at him even though his pass was probably 20 yards in front of the poor player. He certainly got the team motivated.
I know he didn't sign till 1960 but my favorite was Bill Curry true centre forward great. I remember when we played Liverpool and he gave Ron Yeats the run around so Yeats tackled him and pushed him into the popside. Before Bill had landed about 6 supporter leapt out of the popside and went for Yeats. When Bill left Derby he went to Mansfield I liked him that much I went to Mansfield to see him play occasionally.
Who'd forget the Liverpool game. Mass punch up on the pitch after the game. My mate Pete (rip mate, miss you lots>:() did quite a few scourers with his Derby flag which was on the end of a lengthy pole - ah the good old days.!!
