It sounds a lot and if 100% correct then then well done Tony Stewart but in the great scheme of things in the Championship it's relatively a modest amount, that's how daft the game is.
Got to take such figures with a bit of a pinch of salt because the accounts of RUFC and associated companies are very convoluted, where they exist on public record, and are subject to interpretation.
But hey Tony, the black hole needs more, so as it's been said before on this site "get yer wallet out".

The last set of accounts showed revenues slightly in excess of £11m of which Stewart contributed almost £3m through sponsorship. To be fair to Tony, I don't see many people queuing up to spend £3m a year to support Rotherham United.Quote:

As I've already said the accounts of Rotherham United Football Club are a matter of public record, if you can show me where £35m has been invested into that company then I'll say nothing else on the subject.
For the record I don't want Tony Stewart to over spend and for the club to return to the dark days of the past, I just want realism and honesty not meaningless throw away sound bites that time and time again have failed to materialise.
I want to see a well though out structured plan that shows that the club have learned the lessons of this abject season and we can start to look forward with optimism. I'm sorry but Tony's charm offensive this week hasn't convinced me that this is the case.
The £35m figure obviously includes the cost of building NYS so I don't think he can say he has invested £35m in the club as the club doesn't own the stadium.Quote:

Thank God for TS and NYS! The best two things that have ever happened to Rotherham United...
But, I've put thousands into the club over 60 years which could be more as a percentage of my net worth than TS's investment. And I don't get my money back.
And, of course, the article is taken out of context, and could be taken to imply he's simply handed over £35m. Where has the money gone? The vast bulk on the Stadium obviously - though this still seems to leave a sizeable chunk unaccounted for. And if TS has been fortunate enough to construct NYS without outside financial assistance he has no interest payments to meet and will have recouped his money in, what, 20 years? As the rent will be paid in perpetuity, we being akin to council tenants, a very lucrative, long-term outcome for the Stewart family.
This in no way detracts from TS's achievement in securing the land, pushing through the plans and seeing the Stadium to fruition. For which every Miller should be eternally grateful. Just let's not get too hooked up on it being a magnanimous, altruistic gift to the good people of Rotherham. It's a business deal, pure and simple, that could be further enhanced with development of the G&C site.
