So this went well. So well in fact it I’ve spent the best part of 48 hours avoiding social media, this forum, local news and anything else that might pi55 me off even more than I have been over the last couple of days.Quote:

During the game things didn’t get any easier, my florist supporting brother in law and nephew, who were somewhat confused by my lack of excitement regarding David Vaughan’s inclusion in the starting line up, took only a few minutes to see the light. “why is he playing left wing?” they uttered in complete disbelief.
My daughters partner, a Man U fan was doing his best to keep my spirits up and even insisted on wearing one of my Notts scarves as a sign of solidarity , although I think it was more a case of him trying to stay in my good books, needless to say it didn’t last long. “They like the long ball don’t they” he exclaimed followed by, “I can understand why you sit so high up in the stand, it saves you getting neck ache!”
The rhetoric continued throughout the game until eventually they were rendered quite literally speechless. The drive home was somewhat muted and although there was an element of ribbing aimed in my general direction there was a definite tone of pity in their voices having seen first hand the pile of absolute sheite us Notts fans have been subjecting ourselves to.
“You were definitely better second half”, “that should give you something to be optimistic about for the rest of the season”, “there’s no way you will go down, trust me”.
Unfortunately having spent the last 30 mins catching up with all the drama on this board I have to concur with the thoughts of most, there’s not a great deal to be optimist about, January will define the future of our club and I do fear our number may just be up.
That said I’ll be there tomorrow, as I know many of you will be, it’s what we do, in fact it’s a bit like being married, only worse as divorce really isn’t an option.
