Zero man management skills? How do you work that out? If he won the FA Cup, some would be whining.

I think i get what he means, i watched the after match interview right as it happened , there was a problem with the sound so from the point where he was asked if thomas and wooton were his prefered partnership all i got was pictures, the body language and his face was awfully negative, if you didn't know better you'd have thought we'd lost the game, he rarely says anything too comlimentary about the players and often offsets a compliment with a negative comment directly after, i think this is why he winds some of us up so much, we just won, while the honesty is nice a bit of passion would go down well
There are times when he says things about his players that you just know can't have gone down well in the dressing room, for instance saying we need more players because the current crop aren't of enough quality, i know if i were sat there and my manager said that about me i'd be annoyed, even if it were true!
A lot of us thought he had a negative, defeated demeanor when we were not doing well its starting to look like that is just his character, we haven't really seen him while we are doing well and getting results, this might just be how he is win lose or draw, which if im going to take a positive out of it means he's not likely to flap or get flustered or over excited when it comes to crunch time.
Maybe many of us including me misread him because we only saw him while things were going badly, he wasn't so much defeated as level headed whatever the outcome.
It would be nice to see him a bit more upbeat, i like to see a manager compliment the opposition it shows class but a bit of umph when talking about our own chances doesn't hurt either.
Its good to see him doing better
TBH to the OP, the moment when Charlie asked him "surely this is your preferred strike partnership?" and NA looked confused and threw the question back, "is it?" was a bit weird.....NA then went on quickly to explain that returning strikers also looked hungry and he wanted all his strikers "on their toes"....yes, NA occasionally looks confused or negative, but the results show that we are improving rapidly as a team......3 points at Dover might see him as being more positive, let´s see
I suppose tbf to NA it must be hard because noone really knows what we're capable of we lose games we should have won and win ones we perhaps should not have and even though i know in my heart of hearts i should be saying we're f**king Notts County we'll go to dover and smash them all over i'm actually worried they'll do us and end our recent run of good results because i don't actually know for sure if we're any good or not, we're that inconsistent and our results and performances have been so erratic its hard to say for sure if we're good/bad/average, lucky or unlucky.
Anyway i'm going with us beating Dover ......cos we're f**king Notts County
My perception is that our results are much worse with Doyle in the side. Kin ell we won a half with 10 men after he’d been sent off.
From what I’ve seen he slows things down when the key thing in this league is to get the ball forward as soon as possible. The frustrating thing is that he will walk back into the side at the expense of someone who doesn’t deserve to be dropped.
Totally agree, he should earn his spot backfrom the bench, why mix up a team thats winning games what message does that send out to the guys who are winning us points right now, also he's 38 he probably wont be with us next season i'm happier seeing our younger players getting games, yes they'll make mistakes but it'll pay off for next season when they'll be more experienced
I would like to see him as a sub , an older more experienced head to play less minutes be used when that experience could be best utilised at the back end of tight games.
100% correct Briddy. I absolutely loved seeing Osbourne smashing those two shots in today. I can’t remember the last decent attacking player we’ve brought through and I would much rather he was given time on the pitch than some owd codger. Especially in this league.
We basically played with two wingers which left us looking a man short.
Enzio wasn't great today and Osborne isn't great at tracking back, Brindley was exposed a lot second half because of that. I prefer O'Brien but Doyle would have been useful in there today, second half especially.
We did win though and do look to have goals in us so they're doing something right.
I'd like to see Enzio given a rest, maybe osbourne and the lad we have on loan on the wings, Enzio has been the 11th best player for more games than not season, i dont think we're good enough to carry a luxury player who pulls a worldy out of the bag once in a blue moon.
