IF there was 100% proof/evidence he racially abused their player then its a different ball game but he has been charged on the probability he racially abused a player rather than actually having hard evidence.
And just for the record the FA saw fit to charge and ban the Sheff Weds player Forestieri for 6 games and also fine him 25 grand for racially abusing a Mansfield player despite the fact he had been cleared by a UK court of the same accusation!
The whole thing stinks of corruption.
'Balance of probabilities' v 'beyond reasonable doubt, that's the threshold. I don't buy the conspiracy theories regarding any aspect of Leeds United.
I know we are all giving the FA/EFL a hard time about this. However this incident happened at a time when there was worldwide media attention when a number of racist incidents had occurred. So the Powers that be are caught between a rock and a hard place on this one.
The hearing was then delayed at the request of Kiko and Leeds.
Short & sweet if it is, Kiko should not have said anything that could have been construed as racist by anyone.
What happened to innocent till proven guilty, no one could prove what he said. Not standing up for him cos if he did say it then the ban is fair, but probability is not enough, I'd probably like to sleep with my next door neighbour, won't ever happen, so I'm not guilty of it ..🤣🤣
It's a tough one. If I understand it correctly, Leko had said Kiko called him a Negro, which is a racist term.
Kiko has said he used the word in the sentence, mark the black player. Negro being Spanish for black. However none of his team mates heard Kiko say it, which you imagine they would if he was telling someone to mark a player?
So if you take a view as a complete neutral, then you would say there is something in it.
Kiko admitted using that word but was unable to prove in what context, so I think the FA/EFL had no real choice but to take action, assuming all the above is correct.
He should of been very aware not to use that term in any context in the UK especially with all the heightened media attention over racism at that time.
I dont know if he was guilty or extremely unfortunate.
The black, coloured, negro or whatever lad who made the complaint is a bit of a snowflake.
I’m sure many of us have been called worse and would just have told the offender to fu ck off and that was that.
Some people are too easily offended and look for an offence in everything.
They need to grow up and grow a pair.
I hope we relegate Charlton the last game
He wil, enjoy his time in LG 1. The snowflAke will be targeted more games than not
Half the population seem to have anxiety issues or take offence at any given thing, if that's what kiko said I'd hardly call it racial abuse, up in someone's face giving them racist remarks, now that's racist abuse, lad needs to grow up a bit and get on with life, played football for 25 years and got called worse, bit pathetic.
