I am Ron Atkinson
I hold the record for the number of appearances for one of my teams. Over 500 for Oxford United including league and non-league.
Very surprisingly, I am the best ever for being second best. 2nd is the highest position ever achieved by an English Manager in the Premiership era. I did it in 1992/3 with Villa, Kevin Keegan also did it with Newcastle.
I've been around quite a bit and won major cups with three teams. Only played for 1 club but managed many, many more. 2 FA Cup wins with Man Utd, League Cup wins with Villa and Wednesday.
I played a big part in a famous demise. I was captain of the Oxford team that replaced Accrington Stanley in the Football League in 1962. Ironically, 44 years later they would return as Oxford lost their league status.
My nickname as a player suggests I was pretty solid. Tank
I played at 4 levels in the space of 6 years for the same club. From Southern League to Division 2 between 1962-68
Most people think I'm from the Midlands but I was actually born in Liverpool. I was in 1939 but moved to Warwickshire as an infant.
One of my successors in management shares their name with a singer who fronted a group I assembled. Alex Ferguson succeeded me at Man Utd shares a name with Sheila Ferguson who fronted the 3 Degrees, the name given to Batson, Cunningham and Regis who I brought together at WBA.

I'm pretty famous for the colour of my skin.
