Who knows? We could have gone on a 9 game winning streak and walked away with the league. However, at the time the season ended (and I know we were missing a couple of key players through injury and facing losing another through suspension) we were exhibiting relegation form (6 points from 15) rather than promotion form and we'd just been 'hammered' by a team that hadn't won in over a month including 3 loses to our promotion rivals. So I'd say we were lucky, but it's about time we had some luck ;D
I can live with the " Lucky Rotherham" tag, its not something you hear when you get relegated
Not as lucky, perhaps, as our detractors would have us believe - but, yes, fortunate in that we weren’t put to the test to prove our entitlement to an automatic promotion position.
Pretty lucky in that we'd lost our two best players and were clearly struggling. If they had been long term casualties, yes I think we would have struggled to go auto. But hey, way the world is at the moment, I'll take any silver lining! Get in!
Who was the poster who said that he would streak through All Saints Square (or something like that) if we were promoted?
Pretty unlucky for him
It’s better to be lucky than good. Bit of both this season.
Good result 🍺⚽️👍
Hope it stays on our side. We’ll need plenty next season.
We were in the right place at the right time. Imagine how we would have felt if that loss at Rochdale had dropped us out of the top,2! I think Fleetwood drawing with Portsmouth saved us looking back... Well done Fleetwood!
Small margins but how many times do we not have the rub of the green. The point is Pboro nor any other club, no matter what they say, would not have gratefully accepted their luck. We were still 2 points clear of the moaning minnies as well. Who could say what would happen in the last 9 games. Yes we could have dropped out but we could also have stormed to the title Cov had the hardest finish of all.
If we had restarted the season,I'm confident that we would have finished unbeaten and very close to finishing top.We are the best and I've not seen a team better than us.We beat Coventry at home and drew away to them.Oxford turned us over at the NYS but we went down there and convincingly beat them.We deserve to go up End of !!!!
