Used to love the titles such as

Ironic that Mike Pratt who played the living “Randall” sadly died aged 45 in 1976 but Ken Cope, who played the ghost of “Marty Hopkirk” is still going strong at 89.

The other good thing is that many of the supporting cast in the various episodes were either well known at the time or went on to be very successful & famous, such as a very young David Jason. Charles Lloyd Pack (Triggers real life father) Ivor Dean, who played Inspector Large on a recurring basis. He was famous for his portrayal of Inspector Teale, the irritant to Roger Moore’s Simon Templar in the Saint.
Lois Maxwell (the original Miss Moneypenny) Alexandra Bastedo (Sharon Macready in the Champions)

Lots of happy memories and some great programs.

Grist - re Popeye:

I’d only want the pre 1960 series before the made-for-TV version came out. These were the Paramount Pictures cartoons from the 40s and 50s that were originally shown in US cinemas and migrated to ITV in the UK - I think on children’s TV on Wednesday. Much better animation than the later versions which were made with much lower budgets. Bluto became Brutus for the initial post 1960 runs but apparently changed back later.

I can still happily watch these early era ones they’re so good.

Same with early Tom and Jerry.
