Indeed, wages may well be the stumbling block. Let’s not forget, Sunderland signed him for £4 million two years ago so, he’s probably on 10k a week but even he must realise he’s two years older so can’t demand that kind of fee again. Realistically, a new two year contract on 5-6k just might clinch it.

Yes that seems sensible plus fringe benefits such as a good track record of getting our players international call ups which is what he's says he wants

I think we just need to see a bit more from him though. He looks the part but he needs to do it over 12 games or so otherwise it could be an expensive mistake

Fair enough. I thought you were advocating losing them all for one reason or another. I just can't see us letting Smudge and Freddie go if we lose Grigg, even if we risk losing them at the end of the season for nothing.

It will be a kieffer moore all over again. Just enjoy him while we can. Our best hope to keep him in tne new year is for him to be ouf injured the back end of december and all jan and prob more. Sunderkand might let us keep him.if we are half way down the league and no threat to them but if we were challenging at the top it would ge stupid of them to let us keep him.

I like the look of Grigg his all round play is excellent, our best chance of signing him is for him not to score another goal between now and January

Why not offer both Grigg and Smith the same contract.Keep these two together.
